Why You Need a Stroller for Disney World
Disney World isn’t like any other Disney destination, it’s almost the same size as San Francisco and is the world’s largest (if you include all four parks) purpose-made amusement and entertainment resort. If you have little kiddo’s you will need a stroller for Disney World and the theme parks.
And in order to see, and do, as much as you possibly can while you’re there, you’ll end up doing a lot of walking, and the only way to make sure that your toddlers and your children can keep up and won’t get too tired too quickly is if you’re armed with a stroller that they can sit, sleep and enjoy the view in comfort from.
If you have young children then you will need a good stroller for Disney World and your Florida vacation.
Finding the Best Stroller for Disney World
Finding the best stroller for Disney World is a challenge in itself, as it has to conform to the size rules that Disney have implemented at all of their parks for strollers (which means that it can’t be more than thirty-one inches wide or fifty-two inches long).
A good stroller for Disney World needs to light enough to be travel friendly and to be carried when it’s not in use, maneuverable, sturdy and strong, have enough storage space to carry everything that you’d normally just throw in a backpack and provide shelter from the heat and torrential rain that Florida is famous for.
That’s a tall order to fill, but it’s also one that I’m more than happy to help you with your search for the best stroller for Disney World. Planning a visit to Walt Disney World can be difficult enough without having to try and find the right stroller, so relax, stop worrying and take a deep breath.

The Best Strollers for Disney World
I’m here to help you make the right choice and stop you from disappearing down an endless trail of stroller rabbit holes of many different types. My family vacations and trips to all four parks have given me all the experience and knowledge that I needed to tack down and find five of the best strollers for Disney World that you can pack for, and use on your trip.
It’s time to tick the stroller box on your Walt Disney World trip checklist…
1. Baby Jogger GT2 All-Terrain Stroller for Disney World
It isn’t just the streets and paths that’ll you’ll wander around in the parks that you have to think about when you’re pushing your toddler around in a stroller, it’s the bridges, the hills, and the bumps, humps, and ups and downs that you’ll end up navigating that you’ll need to take into account as well.
And that’s where the GT2 begins to earn its salt, as its soft rubber tires and suspension will make it possible to take every curb in your stride without disturbing its passenger.
Falling well within the parameters that Disney set, the GT2 can also turn on a dime so you won’t run headlong into the crowds of your fellow Mouseketeers who have flocked to the parks at the same time as you while providing a comfortable ride for any toddler who weighs up to sixty-five pounds.
You know what that means don’t you? It means that when your tired four-year-old needs to take a nap before the fireworks begin, they’ll be able to get all the rest they need before the parks give them a kiss goodnight.
And, if all of that wasn’t enough to make you reach for your credit card, the GT2’s signature one-hand, fold and lock system makes it easy to collapse and simple to set up.
So you won’t have to worry about wasting precious time when you carry it on the buses, boats, or monorail or setting it up when you’ve reached your destination and need to set it up again. It’s almost as though Baby Jogger designed this stroller specifically for Disney World.
Pros
- For Toddlers Big And Small – As it can comfortably carry any toddler or infant who weighs up to sixty-five pounds, you’ll have the perfect chauffeur-driven vehicle for your little one on hand to nap in when they get tired. And believe me, when they’re fully immersed in the sensory overload of Walt Disney World, they will get tired and you’ll be grateful that you had, and have one of the best single stroller on hand when they do.
- Lightweight – As I’ve already pointed out how easy this single stroller is to collapse, I think that I should also tell you about how easy the GT2 is to carry, as it only weighs twenty-two pounds, and that’s a lot less weight, and easier to carry than a cranky three-year-old. One of the best travel stroller choices.
Cons
- Affordability – It isn’t exactly a cheap travel stroller. Packing it with the rest of your vacation luggage will give your bank balance the type of pounding that you’ll probably want to avoid until you actually get to the parks.
2. UPPAbaby G-Luxe Single Stroller for Disney World
Offering multiple recline positions that can be taken advantage of with a simple-to-adjust zipper system, the G-Luxe was designed to carry your precious cargo from six months of age until whenever it is that they hit the fifty-five-pound mark.
In other words, it’ll be on hand and ready to help your toddler travel around Disney World until they reach and sail past their third birthday.
And as it’s easy to collapse and set up, has its own convenient shoulder strap, and weighs just over 6kg when it’s folded up and ready to be carried, it’s ideal for hopping on and off the transportation system and traveling between the parks.
The thing that really sold the G-Luxe to me, and will probably sell it to you as well, is the under-seat storage that it offers, that’s capable of holding anything and everything that you’d normally hump around in your rucksack.
That under-seat net/storage basket? It’ll comfortably hold another ten pounds of whatever else it is that you need to take with you for a day in the parks, which makes it an ideal way for your child to see Walt Disney World from the comfort of a stroller.
Pros
- Weight Limit – With a ride on weight limit of 15kg and an additional ten pounds of storage space, it’s a perfect lightweight stroller for Disney World
- Carry On – While we’re on the subject of lightweight, as it weighs just over 6kg when it’s collapsed, you’ll easily be able to haul it from bus to boat and monorail to park entrance without breaking a sweat. Even in the omnipresent Orlando heat.
Cons
- Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover – Or a stroller by the way it looks, as even though the G-Lite isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing pushchair, it is more than up to the task of helping your and your family conquer Walt Disney World. But if looks are important, which they can often be while you’re on vacation, then you might want to give this stroller a wide berth.
3. Joovy Caboose Ultralight Tandem Stroller for Disney World
Making your way around Disney World with a toddler who’s pushing the definition of the term and her or his younger sibling, just became a lot easier thanks to Joovy’s Caboose stroller, which can carry two children and up to ninety pounds of weight in its front and rear-facing seats.
The rear seat is a blessing in disguise as it’ll let your older, more independent toddler rest when they get tired and jump out of the stroller to walk next to you when they’ve recharged their batteries and are ready to walk around under their own steam again.
And if they don’t want to sit down? Your older toddler can also stand on the rear platform of the stroller, and they won’t get in the way of you being able to push and steer the Caboose Ultralight.
The large canopy will also ensure that whichever of your kids is riding upfront will be protected from the sun and the rain, while the smaller canopy at the rear of the Caboose provides slightly less shade and shelter for the eldest of your children.
Whichever way you look at it though, it’s an easy, simple, and straightforward way to transport both of your toddlers around Disney World,
Pros
- Two For One – It’s a tandem stroller that’ll let you push two kids around the parks all day and every day. And if you do, you can cancel your gym membership as you’ll get all the workout time that you need. Ninety pounds is a lot of weight to push around the parks.
- Breaking It Down – Easy to collapse and set-up, when you do need to carry it one handed from bus to bus and park exit to monorail, it weighs just twenty-two pounds, which makes it lighter than the kids that you’d normally have to carry. An easy one to carry on Disney Transport.
Cons
- Not Quite As Tough As It Looks – While I’ve got absolutely no doubt that it would admirably rise to the challenge of pushing your kids around for long days in the parks for the duration of your vacation, I’m not sure that, according to the reviews of its long-term transportation solution that I’ve read, it would survive more than a couple of trips to Walt Disney World,
4. Summer Infant 3DLite Stroller for Disney World
I literally had to do a double-take when I found this for Disney as it seems like the ideal solution to every parent’s Disney World transportation conundrum, as it’s well within the means of even the tightest of family budgets.
This stroller for Disney World is able to comfortably seat any toddler who weighs up to fifty pounds (around three to three and half years old) and can be safely be used to accommodate any child over six months of age in its five-point safety harness system. It even has a four-point reclining seat for younger kids and those who spend a little bit of their day in the land of nod.
Easy to collapse, its locking system and shoulder strap make this thirteen-pound stroller simple to take with you while you’re riding on the Disney World transportation system and straightforward to set up when you get to where you’re going.
The 3DLite’s umbrella shade will keep your toddler sheltered from the sun and the rain, and the storage basket at the rear of the stroller will let you carry all of the stuff that won’t fit in your backpack. A great umbrella stroller for Disney.
If I ever meet the person who designed this stroller I’m going to ask them if they’re a Disney World annual pass holder, and I’m willing to bet a Dole Whip that they’ll say that they are.
Pros
- Budget-Friendly – If you forget to factor the price of a stroller into your Walt Disney World vacation plans, don’t worry as this cheap, cheerful, and dependable solution won’t put a dent in your Disney finances.
- Thirteen And Fifty – It weighs just thirteen pounds when it’s collapsed and ready to be carried, and when it’s up and raring to go it can comfortably carry fifty pounds of toddler. That’s the kind of stroller that was made to cope with Walt Disney World.
Cons
- Size Is Important – The canopy is a little smaller than I’d like, which means that’ll you have to break out the suncream and might have to equip the stroller with a rain cover to protect your toddler from the vagaries of the Orlando weather, but given its price, I’m sure that you won’t mind paying a little extra for both.
5. Joovy Scooter X2 Double Stroller for Disney
If you weren’t quite as taken with the Caboose pushchair as I am and are still looking for a double stroller for Disney and a solution for both of your toddlers and your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, the X2 could be the answer to your prayers.
And before you ask, yes this double stroller does fall within the width and length parameters that Disney set for strollers, thanks to its incredible, and versatile narrow design.
This double stroller for Disney World will comfortably carry two three-year-olds and can hold up to ninety pounds before the stroller will start to buckle, has two five-point safety harnesses and an extra-large sun canopy with a peek-a-boo (those are Joovy’s words, not mine) window. When the double stroller canopy is fully extended to protect your kids from the sun and the rain, they’ll still be able to see what’s going on and happening in the parks.
The X2 double stroller uses Joovy’s one-hand fold down system, which makes it relatively easy to carry, and incredibly simple to set up again when you arrive at your park of choice, and narrow design means that this double stroller won’t get stuck in the security gates when you enter the parks and won’t take up more room than it should on the pavement when you’re strolling down Main Street.
It’s a double stroller/two toddler transportation system that would even make Bob Gurr smile.
Pros
- Two Toddlers – It’s a side-by-side double stroller for Disney that’s small enough to sail through lines and checks and won’t get in the way of the other park fans who’ve joined you at Disney for the day.
- Sheltered From The Sun And The Rain – The extra-large canopy on this double stroller will shelter your kids from the sun and the rain, and its purpose-designed window will make sure that they don’t miss a moment of their Disney trip.
Cons
- A Little On The Heavy Side – When the double stroller collapsed and ready to carry, it weighs thirty-two pounds which means it’s a little on the heavy side.
Best Stroller for Disney World – Buyers Guide
Which Stroller Is The Right One For My Family’s Disney World Vacation?
While all of the strollers on my list will make sure that you and your kids can make the most of your trip, if you’re planning on taking two small children with you I’d go for the Caboose and if you’re only taking one, I’d go for the 3DLite.
At the end of the day though, the only person who’s going to know which stroller for Disney World is the right one for your family is you.
Best Stroller for Disney World – Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Hire A Stroller At Disney World?
You can, but depending on how long you’re going to be staying at Walt Disney World, it might make more financial sense to bring your own stroller with you.
And as the Walt Disney World strollers can only be used in the parks and at Disney Springs, and can’t be taken to and from any resort hotels or off property motels, getting your kids to and from the parks without a stroller might be a tad difficult. My advice? Bring your own stroller with you, just make sure a stroller for Disney World fits your needs.
