Disney World have announced an offer that was previously just for UK Guests that includes Disney Dining Credit for vacation packages. Rather than issue meal and snack credits as they did with the Dining Plan, with the Disney Dining Credit or Walt Disney Dining Promo Card, you are given a set amount of money to spend on dining based on the Disney Resort you are staying at – up to £2,100 Disney Dining and Merchandise. So, how does Disney Dining Credit work? Read on to find out all you need to know.
We had a Disney World vacation package with the Disney Dining Credit included on our vacation in 2022 and we were been allocated $854.00 for staying at Coronado Springs. If you were to stay at a selected deluxe resort you would have the maximum $2,100 credit included in your package.

How Does Disney Dining Credit Work?
Prior to your vacation a Disney Dining Credit will be sent to you in the form of a digital Walt Disney World Resort – Dining Promo Card. You will be sent your digital card on the day of your arrival, to the email address provided at time of check-in to your Disney Resort hotel.
What Can a Disney Dining Credit Be Spent On?
Walt Disney World Resort state that the Dining Promo Card offers fantastic flexibility and choice, giving you the opportunity to discover dining options to delight every taste and style:
- Disney Dining Credit will be accepted at over 250 dining locations across the Disney Parks. Disney Springs and Disney Resort hotels are also included.
- Credits will be redeemable on food, drinks and gratuities at the select dining locations.
- All types of dining will be open to the Disney Dining Credit from fine dining to quick service meals, and snacks.
- You will also be able to use the Disney Dining Credit for dining some Character Dining Experiences.
- It will also work with Mobile Order. This is a feature on My Disney Experience where you can order food in advance and collect at a pre-arranged time.
- The 2023 version of this offer also allows you to use your credit on gifts and souvenirs including Disney apparel, homewares, soft toys and more.
How Does the Disney Dining and Merchandise Credit Work?
The Disney Dining Promo Card is accepted across a wide range of locations from Theme Park food carts, to fine dining restaurants and shops.
On arrival to your dining experience, you simply present your Dining Promo Card to a Disney Cast Member. This is done via your mobile device or from a printed version of your email. The bar code included will be scanned and applied to your bill. You will also be able to add the Dining Promo Card to your mobile wallet!
Things To Know Before Your Disney World Vacation
Dining reservations are highly recommended by Disney World, and are required in some locations. These can be made up to 60 days in advance of your arrival. The My Disney Experience account can be used to access a range of features like online menus and restaurant check-in. It was used exactly the same with the dining plan in the past.

With already over 250 locations confirmed you can use the Disney Dining Credit at all of the locations detailed in the images below. This includes all of the Disney World Parks, Disney Springs, Resorts and the Water Parks too.

What Can’t You Use the Walt Disney World Dining Credit Promo Card For?
- You cannot use the Disney Dining Credit off Walt Disney World Resort property.
- Anywhere not currently listed as accepting the Disney Dining and Merchandise Credit.
Things to Remember
- You still need to have valid park admission and a reservation for park entry.
- Dining reservations do not guarantee admission to the park.
- You can make Disney dining reservations 60 days in advance of your check in date.
Is the Disney Dining Credit Good Value?
If you compare the Dining Credit/Promo Card against what offers we have personally used before (the free dining plan), then no it does not seem to be as good value. However, if there aren’t going to be any better offers landing soon then it is the best value we are going to get.
We have calculated and planned in detail where and what we were going to eat, the $854 dining credit we had as part of our package (for 2 people) could potentially cover 8 to 10 table service meals. This doesn’t include tips but would still leave you with 6 to 8 days to pay for further table service meals. Of course, we still have to budget for any quick service meals, snacks and drinks too – most of which would have previously covered by the Dining Plan.
The reality of our Disney World vacation was pretty much what we estimated and the Dining credit lasted for 7 to 8 days of a 14 night stay at Walt Disney World.
You are certainly going to be spending more on food and drink than you previously would have during a Disney World Vacation.
Final Thoughts – How Does Disney Dining Credit Work
Offers that are released in the next year for vacation packages will certainly be interesting to see when they come out. Hopefully, normality and profits will return which should result in better offers. For now, I’ll take it as my wife, and I need our Disney World fix.
