We really like using Magic Bands at Disney World. They are easy to use and being a wristband you don’t have to keep getting a card or pass out of your purse or pocket. Complimentary Magic Bands for Disney World resort guests are no longer available. As a replacement Disney World have offered Disney MagicMobile, but what is Disney MagicMobile?

What is the Disney MagicMobile Service?
The Disney MagicMobile service is a convenient and contactless way to access MagicBand features such theme park tickets through your smart phone or smart device.
Guests will be able to create a Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app and add it to their smart device’s digital wallet. Most features will be available by just holding up your smart device near an access point. Basically, you will be using your smart phone instead of a MagicBand – to get in the parks, check in for reservations and pay for items.
The Disney MagicMobile Service will be available on Apple devices first before rolling out on other devices. If you have an iPhone you maybe one of the first guests to use this new service at Disney World.
Do I Have to Use Disney MagicMobile?
You can choose to either use the Disney MagicMobile service or stick with a MagicBand. Of course, if you choose to use a MagicBand you will either have to buy one or use one from a previous Disney World vacation. So. if you want to stick with a MagicBand it is absolutely fine.
Can You Use a MagicBand and Disney MagicMobile?
Yes, you will be able to use both options during your Disney World vacation. Both services will allow you to alternate between Disney MagicMobile and the use of a MagicBand. In theory we assume this means that some members of your family can use MagicBands whilst others can use the MagicMobile Service
Will You Still be Able to Buy MagicBands?
Yes MagicBands will still be available to buy with Disney confirming new colors and designs will still be released featuring all your favorite Disney Characters.
What About Room Key Features at Disney World Resorts?
The existing digital room key feature will continue to be available specifically within the My Disney Experience app. this helps guests upon their arrival to Disney World by continuing the use of the online check-in service, going directly to their Disney Resort hotel room and using their phone to unlock their door.
Key to the World Cards will also still be available to Disney World Guests too.
