You can either start at Mexico and work your way around the countries in Epcot clockwise or you can of course go anti clockwise and start at Canada.

So, what can you expect from Epcot countries found at World Showcase? Let’s work our way around all eleven Epcot countries clockwise starting at Mexico.

Mexico Pavilion

The Mexico Pavilion building is a Mesoamerican Pyramid which as you enter you will find Mexican exhibits before entering the main area where you can shop, eat, drink and ride one of the few rides located around World Showcase.

The marketplace theme inside the building is a nice spot to explore and look at all the Mexican style souvenirs as well as getting a view of the Mayan Pyramid at the back of the building that makes up part of the Gran fiesta Tour ride.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros

The Three Caballeros
The Three Caballeros

Take a boat ride through Mexico as Jose and Panchito chase Donald Duck. A fun ride for all the family using screen technology as well as animatronics the Gran Fiesta Tour is nice ride that features famous Mexican landmarks whilst featuring the Three Caballeros.

Usually on a normal day you can pretty much walk on to this ride so if there is a long line it must be a very busy day in the park!

Choza De Margarita

Here you find hand blended and frozen margaritas along with authentic Mexican snacks like tacos.

La Cantina de San Angel

Should you be hungry as you start your World Showcase tour here you can get a quick service meal along with alcoholic drinks and also Mexican Soda’s at La Cantina de San Angel. This is of course a Mexican cuisine based quick service area.

La Hacienda de San Angel

There is also a very popular outside restaurant at the edge of the World Showcase Lagoon – La Hacienda de San Angel . The food is good, but one of the main attractions here is the view of World Showcase Lagoon.

Epcot evening fireworks
Epcot evening fireworks

If you are lucky enough to book one of the coveted La Hacienda de San Angel lagoon-side tables for later in the evening you will get one of the very best views available of the nightly Epcot fireworks. Wonderful views of the fireworks exploding over the countries in Epcot.

San Angel Inn Restaurante

Dine in twilight in this hacienda themed table service restaurant which sits in front of the Mayan Pyramid. At the San Angel Inn you can dine and watch people ride by on the Gran Fiesta Tour too. We have never dined at the San Angel Inn as the reviews in recent years have been average at best.

La Cava Del Tequila

You may have guessed from it’s name that La Cava Del Tequila is the place to get a tequila. There over 200 on offer here along with beer and wine. Definitely a spot for a drink but they do offer some light snacks too.

A brief stroll from Mexico takes you into Norway where over the last few years Frozen has become a big fixture of the Norway pavilion. Here you find another ride (a very popular one) with some interesting things to snack on in the Kringla Bakeri.

Meet Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus

Yes if you are a Frozen fan this is the place to meet Anna and Elsa in their Royal Sommerhus. An enjoyable character experience for fans of the Norwegian Princesses.

Using state of the art animatronics you will meet Olaf, visit Elsa in her Ice Palace as well coming across Anna (of course) and Kristoff. There is one small drop towards the end of the ride but in general this is another fairly gentle ride.

Frozen Ever After Ride

If you have kids that are fans of Frozen then they will love it. Another tier 1 ride so again decisions need to be made about fast passes or rope drop dashes first thing in the morning.

This ride is the furthest away from the main entrance at the front of Epcot what with it being in the Norway pavilion section of World Showcase so be prepared for a bit of a walk if you are heading to Frozen first.

You can find out more info on all of the rides at Epcot here.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Akershus at the Norway Pavilion
Akershus Royal banquet Hall at the Norway Pavilion

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is the place in Epcot to meet a selection of Disney Princesses. Norwegian cuisine which serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We have eaten here in the past where we have met Belle, Ariel, Snow White, Mary Poppins and Cinderella. Worth considering if you have a Disney Princess fan in your party.

China Pavilion

From Norway you head into China where you where a variety of Chinese cultural experiences await.

Biergarten Restaurant

This Bavarian Village themed table service restaurant serves a German buffet. A selection of bratwurst, rotisserie chicken and pork schnitzel are just a few of the food items to expect. This is a communal dining experience so you are more than likely going to be seated with another party (unless you have a party of eight people).

A German band performs as you eat on the stage at the front of the restaurant which is fun. We found the communal dining part a little awkward (perhaps because we are Brits).

Sommerfest

This is the quick service option in Germany. A walk up eatery where you will find such German cuisine options such as Bratwurst, Frankfurters and dessert options too. You can also get a beer or wine from here too.

Der Teddybar

In Der Teddybar you will of course find German teddy bears, toys and gifts.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

Pizza at Via Napoli
Pizza at Via Napoli

Sergio is a fun Italian master Juggler. A fun act to watch if he is performing as you are in Italy.

La Bottega Italiana

You can enjoy a glass of Italian wine here or browse the Venetian Masks, cookware and Italian foods. We normally indulge in some of the small Italian chocolates sold here.

The American Adventure

Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain take you in a journey through America’s past in this 30 minute show featuring animatronics, music and film.

I always enjoy the American Adventure show and it is a great opportunity to sit down for half an hour away from the sun. The American Adventure show is a nice way to relax while you enjoy and learn about the story of America.

American Gardens Theatre

This is the main stage on World Showcase with views of World Showcase Lagoon and Spaceship Earth in the background. A variety of acts perform on the stage but it all depends on the time of year and the festival you are attending which will determine what entertainment is available. The stage is directly opposite the American Adventure building.

Block and Hans

A refreshment stand in the American Adventure pavilion which I often visit for a Kentucky Bourbon beer. You can find a variety of beers here as well as Mickey Pretzels.

Funnel Cake

You might have already guessed but this is where to get some funnel cake when exploring the American Adventure pavilion.

From America we head into Japan where in my opinion you will find the most interesting shopping experience on World Showcase.

The cooking is part of the entertainment at Japan’s other table service restaurant as your chef chop and stir-fry your dishes on the grill that surrounds your table. This Teppanyaki-style cooking is fun to watch and the chef’s are entertaining. Something to consider if you are looking for a dining experience that is a little different.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Ratatouille is has come to France at the World Showcase. The ride is very similar to Ratatouille ride that is already at Disneyland Paris. You are shrunk down and chased through the kitchen of Gusteau’s Parisian restaurant.

The ride is a 4D trackless dark ride and looks a lot of fun. I am very much looked forward to trying it prior to our last Disney World vacation and I can report it a really fun ride.

La Creperie De Paris

This new restaurant located in the France pavilion offers both quick service and table service dining. A menu by celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse hasn’t been released yet. Expect the food to be inspired by the Brittany region of France. Expect a wide variety of savoury and sweer crepes to feature prominently.

United Kingdom Pavilion

The United Kingdom Pavilion
The United Kingdom Pavilion

The penultimate stop on our World Showcase tour of all the countries in Epcot. The United Kingdom pavilion offers British themed streets, shopping, entertainment and dining.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop

If you want some quick service fish and chips then this popular spot found in the United Kingdom is the place to get them. Being a Brit and having tried some of the finest fish and chips the Yorkshire Coast has to offer I haven’t dared try the Yorkshire County Fish Shop yet. But….

Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room

A pub and a restaurant where I have tried the fish and chips and they were very good. You will often find live performers playing the piano and singing in the front bar area.

The Rose and Crown
The Rose and Crown Pub

There are quite a few meal options that are UK staples such as shepherds pie and bangers and mash as  well as British beers and ales. Every time I have been the pub always seems very popular.

United Kingdom Beer Cart

A beer cart that also serves beers and ales in the United Kingdom pavilion that is located outside of the Rose and Crown Pub.

United Kingdom Character Meet and Greet

In the United Kingdom you can meet Alice from Alice in Wonderland who appears regularly all day.

The Tea Caddy

In this shop you can find lots Tea’s (usually Twinings Teas), housewares and snacks from the United Kingdom. For us this shop is always a lot of fun as we look in shock at some of the prices as these are mostly normal items that we see in supermarket back in the United Kingdom.

The Queen’s Table

This is really part of the Tea Caddy as detailed above. United Kingdom snacks, sweets and chocolates.

Lords and Ladies

You will find British health and beauty products in here. We never spend too much time in here as some of the products seemed to be aimed at the older shopper or at least to us British shoppers anyway.

Red Telephone boxes at the United Kingdom Pavilion

A fantastic covers band that performs a wide variety of British Rock classics. These guys are really good so do check them out if they are performing when you are in the United Kingdom.

The Crown and Crest

Inside the Crown and Crest you will find United Kingdom sports shirts as well as T-Shirts from famous British acts like the Beatles, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones as well as gifts from British Pop Culture icons like Doctor Who.

Epcot’s World Showplace Events Pavilion

Located between the UK and Canada this building has never been open when we have been on vacation at Disney World. I believe it is used for special events throughout the year.

The new film will have brand new scenes and a new story replacing the long running O’ Canada film featuring Martin Short.

Popcorn in Canada

All I can really say is that as you might have guessed this is a popcorn stand so, somewhere to stop for a snack if needed.

Refreshment Port

A refreshment stand should you need a snack or a drink. This is located between Canada and the World Showcase entrance from Future World.

Port of Entry Shops

At the entrance to World Showcase you will find two shops. Both have Disney merchandise and you can also find home ware, gifts and refreshments should you need them.

Drinking Around the World at Epcot’s World Showcase

Drinking around the World is the often used term for stopping at each Epcot World Showcase Country and having a drink and a snack. When I say drink it usually means an alcoholic drink.

With 11 Countries in Epcot at World Showcase I can’t say I have had a drink at each one but I do enjoy trying the various beers in some of the Pavilions. You can also pay for the wine walk where you try different wines at Germany, Italy and France.

Kidcot Fun for Younger Children

There are Kidcot locations at each World Showcase Pavilion where children can color in a Duffy Bear card that is on a stick. My kids loved doing this when they were little.

At each location you can get the cast member there to personalize it to which will be relevant to which country you are visiting and this can be a great way of keeping younger children entertained as you make your way around World Showcase.

World Showcase is great for adults but younger kids can sometimes struggle as there aren’t the rides and attractions that you get in some of the other parks. This is where some Kidcot fun really entertains smaller kiddos.

Epcot World Showcase

All the Countries in Epcot World Showcase

We always enjoy exploring the counties in Epcot at World Showcase, there is so much to see and lots of different things to eat and drink. Each Country is different and in general you get a very different experience from the other parks.

Epcot’s World Showcase can sometimes feel like taking a break which is great when you are having a busy but fun Walt Disney World vacation.

You can explore a map of World Showcase at Epcot on the Walt Disney World website here.
