Best Desserts At Disney World

(Last Updated On: October 6, 2023)

One of the things that I adore the most about spending a couple of days in Walt Disney World, is that the normal everyday rules of what you have to do, and when you have to do it don’t apply. There’s no better place to let loose and explore all of the decadent pleasures of the best desserts at Walt Disney World.

My Favorite Disney World Desserts

So without further ado, let’s begin the countdown because it’s time to meet the seven best desserts in Walt Disney World…

Kitchen Sink

This legendary concoction can be found at the Beaches And Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and is an adventure in pure, unadulterated ice cream decadence.

The menu claims that it’s supposed to be shared by four people, and it’s probably right as eight scoops of ice cream smothered in every single topping that the restaurant offers is far too much for one, but four is a stretch.

Take my advice, share it with your partner or your best friend, take your time and let it slowly melt together so that all of the exquisite flavors slowly mix with each other.

You’ll be glad that you did…

Pioneer Chocolate Cake

A specialty of the rambunctious, loud, and always fun Whispering Canyon Cafe that’s the cornerstone eatery in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, the Pioneer Chocolate cake is quite literally the biggest, richest, and most chocolatey piece of chocolate cake that I’ve ever had in my life.

Every time I’ve had a piece of this heavenly dessert it’s almost defeated me, but I’ve always managed to soldier on and finish because when the cake is this good, you don’t want to leave a crumb. It’s so good, just thinking about it makes me want to sit down and eat a slice…

Mickey Beignets

A true taste of New Orleans, the Mickey Beignets are a house specialty in the Sassagoula Floatworks And Food Factory that you’ll soon stumble into while you’re walking around and exploring the French Quarter in Disney’s Port Orleans Resort

Eat them while they’re warm and this rich, sugary treat will literally explode in your mouth, but if you want until they cool down, then there’s a pretty good chance that you lose yourself in a world of stunningly stodgy calories

Troll Horns

If you go chasing monsters while you’re in the Norwegian Pavillion in the World Showcase in EPCOT, you’ll probably find yourself in the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe and if you do, then it would be a crime against the spirits of ‘Frozen’ not to try one of their Troll Horns before you leave.

Imagine a cannoli that was made out of crispy, sugary pastry and stuffed full of densely whipped cream and a sweeter than sweet jam that the Norwegians call Cloudberry and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what this incredible delicacy tastes like.

And no matter how good your imagination tells you it’s going to taste, it won’t even come close to how good it actually is.

Dad’s Favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Layer Cake (A La Mode)

The 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios might have a slightly scary reputation because they believe in good manners, making you sit up straight at the table,  remembering your P’s and Q’s and keeping your elbows off the table when you sit down to eat there, but it’s worth visiting for a piece of Dad’s favorite cake.

All I’m going to say is that I’ve seen grown men break down and cry when they’ve tried a piece, and I’m going to lie, I might have shed a tear or two the first couple of times that I tried it too. Peanut Butter. Chocolate. Cake. And Cream. Is there a finer combination of words in the English language?

Mickey Cookie

Almost as soon as you walk onto Main Street in the Magic Kingdom your nose will draw you straight toward the omnipresent smell of candy, baking, sugar, spice, and all things nice that drifts out of Main Street Confectionery, and you shouldn’t even try to resist. Believe me, it’s a losing battle and one that you won’t mind surrendering to.

Mickey Cookie - Best Disney World Desserts

Give in, grab a Mickey cookie, and savor every sweet and delicious bite and mouthful as you stroll up Main Street toward Cinderella’s Castle. It’s as close to Disney heaven as any of us will ever get, and the cookies taste as good today as they did the first time I had one more than twenty years ago during my first Walt Disney World trip.

Dole Whip

After hearing the birds sing words and the flowers croon in the Tiki Room, one of the Magic Kingdom’s oldest and most beloved attractions, veer left and let your taste buds guide you straight to Aloha Isle where you sample one of the Oahu’s forbidden and secretive delights, Dole Whip, the strange and enticing frozen pineapple dessert that’s half ice cream and half yogurt and a whole host of other incredible things too.

No trip to the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a Dole Whip
