Top 5 Table Service Restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some great Table Service options from great themed family experiences to signature dining as well. Let’s take a look at our top 5 choices.

5. Oga’s Cantina

Oga’s Cantina Menu

Oga's Cantina - The Best Places to Eat in Hollywood Studios

During our last Disney World Vacation, we secured a reservation at Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. Being a lifelong Star Wars fan, I was really excited to see how Disney would present the experience of drinking in a Star Wars Cantina similar to what we saw in the original movie. I wasn’t disappointed and although this is more of a bar than a restaurant, I had to mention it for purely for the experience it offers to Star Wars fan (like me). Check out the link below for our full review.

You can find our full review of Oga’s Cantina here.

4. Hollywood Brown Derby

Hollywood Brown Derby Menu

The Hollywood Brown Derby serves both lunch and dinner the food here is high end so is classed as fine/signature dining.  The theme inside the Hollywood Brown Derby is old time Hollywood glamour mimicking the original Brown Derby where you can enjoy a range of fresh and beautifully prepared dishes from the appetizers to the desserts.

For the entree they offer fish dishes, salads, duck, chicken, and beef as well as meal enhancements such as the lobster tail and scallops. If you are dining with kids, they have a wide choice from a hot dog to something healthier such as the fish or chicken or beef pasta dishes.  To end the meal if you fancy dessert then you choose three mini portions from several options. Paired with a good wine list you can’t go wrong here.

3. 50’s Prime Time Café

50’s Prime Time Café

Another restaurant with a great theme. This all about classic American comfort food from the 1950’s set in a family styled atmosphere.  All diners are called cousins and you are expected to keep your elbows off the table and eat all your food (I got a sticker for clearing my plate)! Sometimes diners are made to stand up and perform ‘I’m a little teapot’ as punishment and on some occasion unfinished vegetables are brought back out as dessert. Don’t worry the serving staff are very good with children and if you don’t want to take part in any of the fun you don’t have to.

There is some great fried chicken here and if you can’t decide on what to eat, they offer a sampling of all the top dishes in the form of A Sampling of Mom’s Favorite Recipes (fired chicken, pot roast and meatloaf with all the fixings).

2. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Menu

Mama Melrose's is one of favourite restaurants at Hollywood Studios

I love Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano because I absolutely love the charred strip steak on offer here. This dish is my favourite table service dish at Disney World, and I can’t wait to get back there and have it again. All the pasta dishes here are good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Mama Melrose’s is a favorite with all our family as we all enjoy our pasta dishes, and the adults can enjoy a glass of prosecco too.

The theme as you would expect is very much Italian. We always enjoy the food here and have always found the service to be to a very high standard too.

1. Sci Fi Dine In Theater

Sci Fi Dine In Menu

The theme of this table service restaurant is great. It is a 1950’s drive in theme where you dine in cars. A cinema screen is situated at the front of the Dine In theater restaurant showing clips from 50’s movies. Our kids love sitting in the front of a car whilst we sit at the back. The old 50’s footage that is being shown fascinates the kids and we don’t mind it either.

I always enjoy the food; I usually get the ribs, but the burgers are also very good too. The milk shakes here are so good and I highly recommend the strawberry shakes. The Sci Fi Dine In Theater restaurant is a very unique restaurant and definitely worth trying if you haven’t yet.

Top 5 Quick Service Restaurants at Hollywood Studios

If you are looking for quick service options when visiting Hollywood Studios, there are lots of options. Out of all of them these are our top 5 quick service restaurants that we regularly use during our Disney World vacations.

5.  ABC Commissary

ABC Commissary Menu

ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios - The Best Hollywood Studios Restaurants

The ABC Commissary has a good choice for all everyone in your party as there are standard quick service choices of burgers and salads that run alongside rib and seafood platters.  For the kids there is the normal mac and cheeseburger or chicken strips. It is themed in an art deco style and there is plenty of indoor seating here and some tables outside too. A good choice if you have kids who don’t like try anything over elaborate.

4.  The Trolley Car Café (Starbucks)

The Trolley Car Café Menu

Also known more famously as Starbucks.   This is a great spot to grab your morning (or any time really) caffeine fix, a quick on the go breakfast (options include various croissants, cakes and muffins, cookies, and other pastries as well as fruit and breakfast sandwiches) to eat and enjoy whilst standing in line for rope drop or whilst walking to your first attraction.  Most standard hot and cold Starbucks drinks are available here and they offer seasonal options too depending upon when you visit.

At lunch/dinner the food menu changes slightly in that salads and regular sandwiches are available alongside the pastries and cakes.

3.  The Backlot Express

The Backlot Express Menu

At the Backlot Express you will find all the classic quick service options that you would expect to find. Burgers, hot dogs, and chicken as well as some fresh salads. The kid’s menu is fairly similar to the adults. There normally is a choice of Star Wars themed cupcakes for dessert.

The theming is that of a Hollywood warehouse with old movie props – even if you don’t eat in here it’s a good place to have a look around. There is plenty of inside seating but like most quickr service locations it can and does get busy during peak times.

2.  Woody’s Lunch Box

Woody’s Lunch Box Menu

Situated in the Toy Story Land prepare to be immersed in amazing theming.  A great location for a quick service breakfast, they offer the breakfast bowl (tater tots with gravy and scrambled eggs), s’mores French toast, breakfast sandwich or the yogurt parfait if you are looking for something lighter and healthier.

The kid’s menu offers the same selections for breakfast at smaller portions, excluding the parfait. For lunch or dinner, the choices consist of sandwiches, turkey, cheese, or brisket or totchos (tater tots with beef and bean chilli, cheese and queso. For desert (or a snack) try the Disney version of a pop tart in raspberry or chocolate.  Once you have ordered your quick service meal there are tables outside where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere of Toy Story Land and your food.

Starting the day with grilled cheese sandwich and tater tots in Toy Story Land.

1. Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Menu

This hangar bay themed quick service spot at Galaxy’s Edge is a lot of fun. The theme and design of the restaurant is great, and the Docking Bay 7 food presentation is really interesting too. There is some great presentation to the dishes using familiar ingredients but presenting them as a dish from a galaxy far far away. We would say this just beats Woody’s Toy Box to the number 1 spot purely for the variety of dishes along with the more immersive environment.

Docking Bay 7 is located in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios

If you can’t get a reservation at Oga’s, then the quick service options at Docking Bay 7 is the next best thing for a Star Wars dining experience.

Top 5 Snacks at Hollywood Studios

If you are looking for a snack or drink to see you through to your next meal, here are our top 5 snacks/drinks at Hollywood Studios.

5.  Breakfast Bowl

Location: Woody’s Lunchbox (Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios)

The Breakfast Bowl at Woody's Lunch Box

Cheat alert this is more of a meal option than a snack, but it is such a great quick option to start a day at Hollywood Studios that I really wanted to mention it. This breakfast bowl has Potato Barrels smothered in Smoked Brisket Country Gravy, Scrambled Eggs and a sprinkling of Green Onions and it is very tasty. Woody’s Lunchbox is a great place to stop first thing in the morning for a bite to eat so I felt the Breakfast Bowl deserved a mention.

4. Strawberries and Crème Frappuccino

Location: The Trolley Car Café

Looking for a sweet but refreshingly cold drink to enjoy whilst at Hollywood Studios? Try the delicious Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino at the Trolley Car Cafe. I’m a big fan of a large Frappuccino when looking to cool down a little at Disney World but the Strawberries and Creme option at Hollywood Studios has to be one of the best.

3. Batuu Bites

Location: Oga’s Cantina

Batuu Bites at Oga's Cantina are Delicious

If you make a reservation for Oga’s make sure you try the Batuu Bites. These are a delicious selection of vegetable chips with dip and we enjoyed so much on our last visit. Don’t be fooled by their odd appearance because once you start eating them you just won’t stop until they are all gone.

2. Blue Milk

Location: Milk Stand (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge)

The Blue Milk Stand at Galaxy's Edge

Any true Star Wars fan wants to try blue milk just like Luke Skywalker and you can do so during your Disney World vacation by visiting the milk stand at Galaxy’s Edge. You can have an alcoholic or non-alcoholic version of this drink. My best description of the taste would be to say that it tastes very similar to a Pina Colada.

1. Nom Nom Cookie

Location: Neigborhood Bakery (Pixar Place)

This good sized warm and crunchy cookie is delicious, and it also has melted chocolate chips inside it too. I was really looking forward to trying this for the first time on our recent vacation and it didn’t disappoint at all. If you love cookies these need to be on your Disney World snacks list for 2021.
