Where to Eat in Hollywood Studios – Full Guide

(Last Updated On: November 5, 2023)

Hollywood Studios still boasts a wide variety of delicious food (and drinks) to satisfy all tastes and appetites.  From healthy choices to not so healthy items (but don’t worry you are on vacation and you will take enough steps to count these out!) and small snack items to full on three course sit down dining there really is something for everyone in your party. Lets take a look at where to eat in Hollywood Studios.

Where to eat at Hollywood Studios – Snacks and Light Bites

Whether you are looking for a snack to tide you over to the next meal, a much needed sugar boost or as an alternative to a meal there are many places that will have something on offer to suit those wanting either a savoury or sweet option, or both!  Let’s have a look at Where to eat at Hollywood Studios for snacks and Light Bites.

Let’s look at Where to eat at Hollywood Studios

The Trolley Car Café

Also known more famously as Starbucks.  Each of the four main Disney World parks has one as well as Disney Springs (which boasts two!) and this is Hollywood Studios.  This is a great spot to grab your morning (or any time really) caffeine fix, a quick on the go breakfast (options include various croissants, cakes and muffins, cookies and other pastries as well as fruit and breakfast sandwiches) to eat and enjoy whilst standing in line for rope drop or whilst walking to your first attraction.  Most standard hot and cold Starbucks drinks are available here and they offer seasonal options too depending upon when you visit.

At lunch/dinner the food menu changes slightly in that salads and regular sandwiches are available alongside the pastries and cakes. Currently all items and sizes excluding the salads and sandwiches are redeemable against one snack credit – so if you are on the dining plan make sure to order the largest “venti” drink to get the most value out of your credit.

The sandwiches and salads class as a quick service and therefore will come with a drink also.  If you are paying out of pocket then it’s probably best to not order a “venti” unless you are extremely thirsty or are going to share.   The Trolley Car Café has no allocated seating inside or out however, there are a few covered tables out to the side of here but these can be used by anyone and you may not get seated.  There are benches and other spots to grab a quick sit down if needed but bear this in mind when ordering.

Oasis Canteen

My absolute favorite snack destination in Hollywood Studios serving only funnel cake with a variety of toppings, including strawberries, soft serve ice-cream and cookies and cream as well as a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  We often use a snack credit or two here as the portions are huge and, if like us you have a picky eater or just prefer it, if you ask nicely they will serve the toppings up into separate containers for you.

One of the funnel cakes topped with strawberries and ice-cream served three of us (one adult and two kids).  However the downside to this location is there is no seating or tables available. Trying to cut up and eat a funnel cake balancing on your knee or a wall on a paper plate with plastic cutlery is, to say the least a bit tricky. Although given the close proximity to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show you can grab one just before the show and enjoy whilst watching.

Anaheim Produce

a small little market style location.  Here you can grab a healthy option as they offer a selection of fruit and vegetables such as prepared and ready to eat strawberries, oranges and carrot sticks.  They also offer the classic Mickey Pretzel and churros. This is a lovely little spot to get a frozen beverage – with or without alcohol to cool you down. Choose from frozen margaritas, craft beers and two flavors of frozen lemonade.  Most items are redeemable as a snack credit – unfortunately the alcoholic drinks are not included.

Hollywood Scoops

As the name suggests ice cream is the main offering here.  You can choose from a wide selection of flavors, you will find many of the classics such as chocolate and strawberry to sorbets and fat free no sugar vanilla  which you can have served in a cup, in a cone or as part of one the sundaes or cookie ice cream sandwich. They also have the “apple crisp a la mode” which is beautiful cinnamon apple topped with vanilla ice cream and then topped further with caramel sauce and streusel.

You won’t find a great choice of beverages just the standard bottled water but they do sell the hard root beer float (alcoholic) perfect for a cool down. A nice choice to enjoy whilst walking around the park soaking in the atmosphere or on your way to your next attraction or take into the beauty and the beast show nearby and enjoy whilst watching the show.

Baseline Taphouse

OK so this one is really classed as a bar but deserves a mention if you fancy a little something to eat whilst you are enjoying one of the alcoholic flights of beer or cider or wine on tap that they offer.   Choose from a cheese plate, pretzel, or spiced almonds whilst you rest your feet and enjoy your drinks. Seating is available outside and a few seats can be found indoors too. This isn’t really family friendly in regards to choices for the children but you can always grab them something before and sit outside to eat and drink.

If none of that takes your fancy you will also find a number of pop up carts and kiosks that sell other snacks such as popcorn, ice cream, pretzels, churros and chips as well as bottled soft drinks and alcohol.  Most of the gift shops also sell snacks such as rice krispy treats, caramel apples, cakes, cookies, cotton candy and trail mix.

Where to eat at Hollywood Studios – Counter Service

Hollywood Studios offers a large choice for those looking for a quick fill me up meal.  Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because these meals are classed as quick it is all going to be fast food as this is definitely not the case.  If you are wanting a more nutritious meal you will find a choice of these offered in many of the counter service locations as well as the typical fast food choices.

If your party is on the dining plan then there is no difference between an adult or a kids quick service credit – this means that kids can order off the adult menu at a quick service restaurant if they have a bigger appetite or fancy the options on there.  You can always share an adult meal between two (or more depending on how hungry they are!) and save the additional credit to use at another time. Let’s take a look at Where to eat at Hollywood Studios when it come to counter service options.

Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge (do not mistake this for the actual table service restaurant)

A great little place outside to grab a quick, light meal whilst you enjoy an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.  The choice is fairly limited here in terms of food, mainly offering salads, sliders and platters and again not really family friendly but an ideal spot for adult only time.

Backlot Express

Our favorite quick service location in Hollywood Studios so far – however the countdown to trying Woody’s Lunch box and the new Star Wars locations is on! There is a much wider choice here with all the classic counter options that you would expect to fine, burgers, hot dogs and chicken as well as some fresh salads. The kids menu is fairly similar to the adults. There normally is a choice of star wars themed cupcakes for desert.

Backlot Express -Where to eat in Hollywood Studios

Historically they have offered fried chicken with Darth Vader waffles (the classic Mickey waffle just shaped as Darth Vader’s head) which is my go to however they have recently changed this to chicken and biscuits. The theming is that of a Hollywood warehouse with old movie props – even if you don’t eat in here it’s a good place to have a look around. There is plenty of inside seating but like most counter service locations it can and does get busy during peak times.

Dockside Diner

Another limited choice menu here but for those happy with the standard hot dogs or nachos you need look no further.  Kids don’t fare well here either with their choice being a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or mac and cheese. You can order an adult choice for them to share and then you can use the same one quick service credit if on the dining plan.  Seating is outside and covered but is limited in number so no guarantee of a seat. But you can eat these meals on the go – not great though if you want a stop and recharge those batteries.

Dockside Diner

ABC Commissary

This is a good choice for all those in your party as there are standard counter service choices of burgers and salads that run alongside rib and seafood platters.  For the kids there is the normal mac and cheese, burger or chicken strips. It is fairly themed in an art deco style and there is plenty of indoor seating here and some tables outside too.

ABC Commissary

Fairfax Fare

An ideal choice if you want to have something different than the standard counter meals.  There are some Latino specialities offered here, rice bowls, fajitas and platters make a nice change to the norm.  For the kids there menu is the standard peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a turkey sandwich – they are not catered for well here, but they can order off the adult menu.

Pizzarizzo

As the name suggests pizza is the specialty and although the name implies it is somewhat linked to The Muppet’s there is minimal theming.  Alongside the pizza they offer basic salads, subs and side dishes. There is plenty of indoor seating set out over two floors.

Pizzerizzo at Hollywood Studios

The beverages offered are what you expect to find at counter service locations including beers, wine and sodas.   Also worth mentioning is the Italian style desserts that they have, Tiramisu and Cannoli – a nice end to the meal.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

This Star Wars hangar bay themed quick service spot at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is a lot of fun. The theme and design of the restaurant is great, and the food presentation is really interesting too. There is some great presentation to the dishes using familiar ingredients but presenting them as a dish from a galaxy far far away.

Oga’s Cantina

During our last Disney World Vacation, we secured a reservation at Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. With hubby being a lifelong Star Wars fan, I was very excited to see how Disney would present the experience of drinking in a Star Wars Cantina like what we saw in movies. He was not disappointed with the experience it offers a Star Wars fan. The bar has a great atmosphere. There are some really quirky drinks to try. Check out the link below for our full review and everything you need to know about Oga’s Cantina.

You can read our full review of Oga’s Cantina here.

Woody’s Lunch Box

Situated in the new Toy Story Land prepare to be immersed in amazing theming.  The only counter service location in Hollywood Studios that serves breakfast, they offer the breakfast bowl (tater tots with gravy and scrambled eggs), s’mores French toast, breakfast sandwich or the yogurt parfait if you are looking for something lighter and healthier.  The kids menu offers the same selections for breakfast at smaller portions, excluding the parfait.

For lunch or dinner the choices consist of sandwiches, turkey, cheese or brisket or totchos (tater tots with beef and bean chilli, cheese and queso. For desert (or a snack) try the Disney version of a pop tart in raspberry or chocolate.  Once you have ordered there are tables outside where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and food.

Rosie’s All American Café

Famous for its fried green tomato sandwich at Rosie’s you will also find chicken nuggets and burgers.  Apart from that there is really not much else available to order here, there is outside seating or take into the Beauty and the Beast show and eat whilst you watch.

For those choosing a counter service location at Hollywood Studios there is so much choice in terms of menu items, seating and theming.  Any food allergy can and is catered for at most locations – just ask for the additional menu. This is the same for any vegetarians or vegans or anyone who has any specific dietary requirements.  This may take a little longer to prepare so make sure you allow a little extra time. Also try to afford the normal eating times and the queues that go with them; grab a late breakfast or early lunch before 11/11.30 or a late lunch early dinner 2/3 or even eat late in the evening 7/8pm.

Where to eat at Hollywood Studios – Table Service Restaurants

Whether you are looking for a themed restaurant, character dining or just a relaxed sit down meal Hollywood Studios has a number of options to choose from.  For all table service restaurants it is advisable to book a reservation which you can do as early as 180 days before your vacation, either on the phone or using the My Disney experience App.  Those popular times and restaurants can get booked up early so it is best to reserve as soon as your plans are set. Don’t worry you can easily amend your reservations using the app or on the phone and you won’t be charged as long as it is before 24 hours of the reservation time.  Some of the table service restaurants also offer the Fantasmic dining package – a great way to enjoy a meal and reserve fantastic seating for the Fantasmic show without using a fastpass.

You can find full details on all the Disney Dining Plan options here.

Hollywood Brown Derby

The only location in Hollywood Studios that is a two table service credit restaurant.  Serving both lunch and dinner the food here is high end so is classed as fine/signature dining.  The theming is old time Hollywood glamour mimicking the original Brown Derby where you can enjoy a range of fresh and beautifully prepared dishes from the appetizers to the desserts.  For the entree they offer fish dishes, salads, duck, chicken and beef as well as meal enhancements such as the lobster tail and scallops.

If you are dining with kids, they have a wide choice from a hot dog to something healthier such as the fish or chicken or beef pasta dishes.  To end the meal if you fancy dessert then you choose three mini portions from a number of options. Paired with a good wine list you can’t go wrong here. As this is classed as a signature restaurant in terms of price you are looking at an average of $14 for an appetizer, $36 for an entree and $13 for a kid’s entree so not cheap.  However, this location offers the Fantasmic dining package at a set price of $63 for adults (10 years and up) and $22 (for children) where you get and entree, desert and non-alcoholic drink as well as the VIP seating ticket for the show.

Hollywood and Vine

The one and only character dining location (at the moment) in Hollywood Studios.  Join the Disney Junior stars (Sofia the first, Jake and the Neverland pirates, Vampirina and Roadster Racer Goofy) for breakfast and enjoy an all you can eat buffet, serving all the expected items such as the Mickey waffles, pastries, egg, bacon, fresh fruit and made to order omelettes. For lunch and dinner the characters change up and you can dine with the fab five; Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Daisy all dressed in their seasonal outfits (in spring they will be wearing garden wear, for summer you will find them in beachwear, Halloween in not so spooky costumes  and Christmas in their festive wear).

Hollywood and Vine - Where to eat in Hollywood Studios

The all you can eat lunch and dinner buffet changes with the seasons so best to check what’s on offer just before you go. The Fantasmic package is offered here at breakfast, lunch and dinner at one table service credit if you are on the dining plan or for $46 (10 years and up) $28 (3-9 years) for breakfast or $60 (ages 10 and up) or $36 (3-9 years) for lunch or dinner.

50’s prime Time Café

Step back into moms 1950’s kitchen and experience a full on themed restaurant where you are treated as part of the “family”.  The servers get really involved in this and may call you cousin or brother and will tell you off for bad table manners such as having your elbows on the table, not using your cutlery or leaving your vegetables.  This is great fun for the whole family; the kids especially enjoy it when they see the grown-ups getting into trouble. This may not be for everyone and if your party doesn’t want to take part then just tell your server and you can observe the others.

50's Prime Time Cafe

The food offered here is delicious and authentic to what you would have expected to find in the 1950’s. Serving up favorite recipes such as chicken pot pie, meatloaf, vegetable lasagne and fried chicken or the sampling plate you will not leave hungry! Make sure you try and leave room for a desert or one of the thick milkshakes.  At an average cost of $22 per adult entree and $10/11 per kid (some kids menu items include a beverage and dessert) and $9 for an adult desert it is not badly priced and the portions are huge.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

Both the menu and the theming reflect the old classic Italian meets California style.  There is a wonderful choice of freshly cooked pasta dishes, meats and fresh fish teamed with a great wine menu.  A great selection of classic Italian desserts and fresh coffee finish off your meal here perfectly. Children can choose from fish of the day, grilled chicken, chicken parmigiana, pasta or pizza.  This restaurant also offers the Fantasmic dining package here for $43 per adult and $18 per child or one table service credit you get one entree, desert and one non-alcoholic beverage. For those not wanting the Fantasmic package on average it’s around $26 for an adult entree and $10/11 (some including a desert and beverage) for the kids.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

An absolutely fantastically themed restaurant.  You will be seated in a 1950’s car whilst you watch classic sci-fi movie clips making you feel that you really are at a drive in movie.  The food options here are good, with great appetizers, followed by your choice of burgers, steak, salads, pasta or wraps. The milkshakes are delicious and make sure you try one of the deserts if you can manage it.  This is a great restaurant for smaller parties as the seats are just like a car and sits two and two or some cars have three rows of two. There are also a couple of cars that seat three on each side of a table. It is dark and noisy in here so make sure that younger children are supervised and OK.  The average adult entree price is $21 and for kids around $11 (some include a desert and beverage).

Please note that with the average prices for table service meals these can change and does not include gratuities or taxes and these will be added onto your bill.  The characters may be subject to change and are not guaranteed. All of these restaurants provide an allergy- friendly menu. The servers are usually great if you want to adjust items like removing a sauce etc – just ask nicely!

Where to eat at Hollywood Studios

As you can see with the wide range of food locations and you will not go hungry when you have to decide Where to eat at Hollywood Studios.  Be it a small snack, a counter service meal or a full on sit down table service meal there is a wide range of choice.  Just remember with those table service locations to book as far in advance as possible to afford disappointment.
