If you are planning to visit Epcot during your Disney World vacation it is very likely that you will come across the infamous Beverly Drink. In this post I’ll explain what Beverly it is, where to find Beverly Soda at Epcot, and what to expect if you should try it?

9 Things You Need to Know About Beverly Soda at Epcot

Dare you try it? Let’s take a look at the infamous beverage that is Beverly Soda and 9 things you need to know before you visit Epcot during your next Disney World vacation.

1. What is Beverly Soda?

Beverly is a drink that was originally released by Coca-Cola in 1969 for the Italian market. It is a carbonated soft drink that is an aperitif and is non-alcoholic. In Italy it is common to have a drink and small bite before dinner. The aperitivo typically includes a drink that’s on the bitter side, and usually olives, nuts, or cheese to stimulate appetite and aid in digestion.

  • Coca-Cola stopped producing Beverly for the Italian market in 2009. Now, the company produces Beverly for just a few tasting locations one of which being Walt Disney World.
  • Many aperitifs are cocktails, and are usually a combination of an herbal spirit — like Aperol or Campari, wine, and something with fizz like a club soda or sparkling water.
  • But there are also a variety of non-alcoholic “soda” aperitifs like Beverly, these include Sanbitter, Chinotto, Stappi Red Bitter, and Crodino which is very popular popular in Italy. You can find some good examples of aperitifs here.

2. What Does Beverly Soda Taste Like?

As mentioned above expect a very bitter taste. In fact, expect a very intense bitter taste. One of the drinks main ingredients is grapefruit rind which really give you an indication of what to expect. Beverly is very much a drink to sip rather than taking a big mouthful straight away. Sugar is also a main ingredient.

Beverly would typically be served over ice, garnished with an orange slice.

6. Can I Find Beverly Soda Anywhere Else in Disney World?

Yes, you can also find Beverly at Coca-Cola rooftop bar located on top of the Coca-Cola Store at Disney Springs. This bar offers a large variety of different Coca-Cola drinks from around the world to try including Beverly.

You can also try Beverly Soda at the Coco Cola Store at Disney Springs

Do note though that unlike Club Cool you have to purchase your drinks in this location. However, in the past the bar staff have allowed my family and I to try a small sample of something before buying.

The Coca-Cola store rooftop bar also has some great views of Disney Springs. You can find out more about the Best Bars at Disney World here.

7. Should You Try the Beverly Drink?

If you don’t mind a bitter taste, then give the Beverly a try. The paper cups at Club Cool are quite small so you won’t be able to drink a lot in one go. If you don’t mind trying different things, then give it a go.

If you have young children in your group, then I would recommend just letting them try a little bit if they do not mind trying new things. Have a cup of something else ready though to wash away the bitter taste of the drink if needed.

8. The Beverly Challenge

The Beverly challenge can be many things, but it is basically a simple challenge where you attempt to drink Beverly. This could be:

  • Simply trying the drink once.
  • Trying to drink multiple cups of Beverly.
  • Trying to drink a full-sized cup of Beverly from the Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar at Disney Springs.
  • Drinking all of the drinks on offer at Club Cool and finishing with Beverly.

9. My Experience of Drinking Beverly

I have tried Beverly soda many times over the years and never find it that bad to be honest. It is not a nice drink, but it is worth nothing that I do enjoy drinking ales and beers that are quite bitter.

My wife is not a fan of it all and my kids are happy to try it on each visit for fun but they always have a cup of something sweeter to hand to wash away the taste of drinking Beverly.
